Talks Programme

Locally interesting talks…

Derwent Valley BRIDGE Community Library is expanding and widening what it can offer to the local community in addition to being a place to borrow books. Even in our early days as a volunteer-run library, we hosted the occasional talk and, in 2015, a talks group was formed to plan an annual programme.

Naturally, as a community-based facility, we are keen to include as many local contributors as possible on topics that cover not just fiction or literary subjects but also history, heritage, the environment and other local-interest subjects. We have limited resources and are not able to offer fees or hefty travel expenses. However, we are extremely encouraged by the number of talented local people who have offered their support.

If you have any suggestions for future talks or would like to volunteer to give your own talk, please pop in to the library and speak to one of our volunteers.
