Children\u00a0between the ages of 4 and 11 years old\u00a0can come into Derwent Valley Bridge Library and join the Summer Reading Challenge. It’s free\u00a0for members of the library, even if\u00a0they aren’t a member yet, it’s easy, quick and free\u00a0to join.<\/p>\n

What is the Summer Reading Challenge?<\/h3>\n

Every year, thousands of families all over the country take part in the UK\u2019s biggest reading event for children in libraries, the Summer Reading Challenge, run by the charity The Reading Agency<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of the challenge is to get children to read any six books of their choice from their library during the summer holidays.
\nEvery year there\u2019s a different theme; this year it\u2019s Animal Agents, illustrated by the UK\u2019s best-selling children\u2019s illustrator Tony Ross.<\/p>\n
