The library was opened on 17th August 1973 and\u00a0to celebrate\u00a0of it’s 45th birthday, the trustees held a party with a 1970’s theme.<\/p>\n

Guests included, Jan Laverick , the first ever librarian who worked alongside Jean Raine, the lady who\u00a0founded the library, customers who had used the library since it’s inception, ‘Friends’ of the library, and volunteers who help to keep it going.<\/p>\n

The buffet was provided by the trustees and\u00a0included a beautiful book-themed cake which was cut by Jan.<\/p>\n

1970s dress was the order of the day.<\/p>\n
